Riner Rentals, based in Harrisonburg since 1999, is a property rental and management company for students and families. Owned by Paul Riner, Riner Rentals currently boasts a staff of six full-time employees and two part-time employees. Riner Rentals was established by the company’s first owner, Bill Riner, who used more than 20 years of property management experience to expand and diversify the company’s rental portfolio. Initially growth came from personal ownership and rental of property, but soon expanded into management of real estate for more than 150 individual owners in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area. This growth has given our company a successful blueprint that it can now apply to privately owned properties of all types.
Riner Rentals strives to provide dependable, professional, and consistent management services as well as excellent customer service for both its tenants and property owners. A staff member is available twenty-four hours a day should there be an unforeseen problem that needs to be addressed. Employees include multiple Virginia Real Estate Brokers and Virginia Real Estate Salespersons, and additional employees with varying specialties. All strive to provide the kind of service that has driven our previous growth!

Meet the Team
Paul received a bachelor’s degree (2003) and master’s degree (2005) in Sport and Entertainment management from the University of South Carolina. He obtained his Virginia Real Estate License in 2006 and has worked in marketing, advertising and media exposure. He became owner of Riner Rentals in 2011. He completed the HR Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class in 2014. He has a wonderful wife, Laura, a beautiful daughter Leonie, and a son, Ray. He is a member of the Rockingham County Rotary Club since 2013, and served as President for the 2016-17 Rotary Year. He serves on the board of the Harrisonburg Rockingham Sports Commission, as a board member for the HR Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, is a strong supporter of Young Life and other ministries in the area, and supports the growing arts culture in and around Harrisonburg as a member of the Arts Council of the Valley Board of Directors. He is proud to sponsor scholarships for both the Harrisonburg High School Journalism Department and Harrisonburg High School Governor’s STEM Academy, where he graduated in 2000. He attends Horizon Christian Fellowship in Harrisonburg, and is excited to raise his family in Rockingham County!
Before founding Riner Rentals in 1999, Bill received a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from West Virginia University. He has managed and owned property in the Harrisonburg area for over twenty years. He holds a Virginia Real Estate Salesperson License and a Broker License and is a member of various professional and social organizations in the Harrisonburg area including the local ELKS and Lions Club chapters. Bill has twin sons, Carter and Paul; Paul now owns Riner Rentals after buying the business from him in 2011. He enjoys travelling and working with the many owners he has met during the past 20 years in property management, and calls himself “semi-retired” (with a grin).
Director of Housing & Notary Public
Kim holds an Associate’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. She has over 17 years of Administrative and Accounting experience. Kim has been employed with Riner Rentals since June 2013, and started as an accounts specialist. She obtained her VA Real Estate License in 2013 and moved into the role of Property Manager. She also served briefly as Financial Manager before moving into her current role as Director of Housing. Kim lives in Rockingham County and is married with two wonderful children.
Debi is a retired school teacher after 28 years. She graduated from Radford University in Radford, Virginia with a BA in Business Administration, she also has a BS in psychology and education from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. Debi finished up her education at Virginia Tech with her master’s in educational technology. She has been working at Riner Rentals since August of 2017 where she is a licensed Property Manager. When she is not working, her job as Grandmommy takes up her spare time.
DL joined the Riner Rentals Team in April of 2018 as the Financial Manager. He has been married to his wonderful wife for the last 21 years, they have a beautiful daughter and a new son-in-law. DL is a graduate of JMU with a BA in Business Administration with an Accounting Major. For the past 30 years he has worked with Wallace Computer Services and R.R Donnelly as in Accounting and as a General Manager. When not working, he enjoys spending time on the golf course or watching JMU sports.
Jordan has lived in the Shenandoah Valley most of her life and moved back to the area after she graduated from Liberty University in May of 2017 and earned her B.S. in Business and Graphic Design. She started working at Riner Rentals as a Property Manager and got her Real Estate License in late 2017.
Assistant Financial Manager & Collections
Pam was born in Riverside, California but her family moved to Timberville, VA in 1985. She graduated from Broadway High School in 1989. In January of 1992 she married her high school sweetheart Daren and became a mother to a wonderful daughter, Paige, in 1994. She now lives in Fulks Run with her husband and 2 fur babies, Copper and Gemma. Pam brings over 10 years of accounting experience to her current position as Financial Assistant. She has been with Riner Rentals since July of 2017, and is currently pursuing her Virginia Real Estate License.
Applications and Administration
Sara completed her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education at James Madison University in 2004. Sara served with Young Life while working as an Account Manager for a tech company in Northern Virginia for eight years, before moving to Rockingham County with her husband. Sara has been working with Riner Rentals since April 2016 and handles Rental Applications and other various administrative tasks. Sara is enjoying the beautiful, slower pace of life in Rockingham County with her husband and two young children!
Property Management Administrator
Lyan Figueroa comes all the way from “The Island of Enchantment” (Puerto Rico). She graduated in 2015 from Fort Defiance High School. She has been employed with Riner Rentals since March 2017, as a secretary/administrator. She is bilingual and is an Independent Business Owner through the Amway Corporation. Lyan is pursuing her VA Real Estate License with hopes to become a Property Manager. Lyan now happily resides at the Rockingham County.
Administration & Bilingual Interpreter
Patricia graduated from Textron Chamber of Commerce Providence Public Charter School in 2004. She moved from Rhode Island to Harrisonburg in 2007. She worked at BB&T Bank for 1 ½ years as a Teller and then worked at Harrisonburg High School for 5 years as an Attendance Coordinator. She has been employed with Riner Rentals since 2015 as an Administrator and Bilingual Interpreter. Patricia is married with three wonderful children.
